Bible Journaling Flowers to Praise God

Bible Journaling with flowers is an easy way to express your praise to God. If you don’t praise God, all creation will bless and praise the One who made it!

Have you ever paused long enough to notice the beauty of creation? It can help us recognize and appreciate Him as our creator.

In the spring and summer when flowers are brightly waving in the breeze, stop long enough to see their vibrant colors and shapes. Each individual flower reminds us of God’s creative power and how He provides beauty and sustenance for us.

Notice the Flowers and Learn to Draw

I can become so busy in my home with laundry and dishes that I am too rushed to stop long enough to study a flower.

Since I love drawing flowers, wouldn’t it benefit me to really take in their beauty so that I learn to draw them? As soon as the daffodils popped out of the melting snow, I’m going to take a breather and really soak in their colors and shades.

Not only will it help me learn to draw better flowers, but it will also give me the opportunity to give praise and thanks to Jesus for creating daffodils.

When we slow down long enough to take in the outdoor beauty that surrounds us, God can inspire us to deepen our relationship with Him.

Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
While I live I will praise the Lord;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Psalm 146:1-2

Do You Talk to Yourself?

Do you have a psalm that spoke to your heart this week?

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children, Psalm 103:17

Do you talk to yourself? If not, your mind is constantly talking!

When you’re fearful, do you let those thoughts go unchecked? We are told in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to take our thoughts captive.

David, the author of this psalm was often dealing with fear, anxiety, depression, and all sorts of other issues. He didn’t simply let them go wild through his mind.

He talked to himself!

He would encourage himself in the Lord!

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children, 1 Samuel 30:6

When you are dealing with an issue in your life that discourages you, talk to yourself like David did and encourage yourself in the Lord.

Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
Bless the Lord, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.

Bless the Lord, O my soul! Psalm 103:20-22

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; Psalm 103:17

If you are discouraged, fearful, anxious, dealing with melancholy, or something else in your life, talk to yourself and command yourself to bless the Lord and praise Him!!

Journaling Tip

A flower causes me to praise the Lord!

Try drawing and coloring a simple flower like this one (idea from Pinterest) and writing your verse beside it. I used ARTEZA Colored Pencils for Adult Coloring and dipped the tip in water. Not exactly beautiful but I always love experimenting.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; Psalm 85:6
