as you prepare your heart for Easter. Worship and celebrate Jesus this year!
Life can throw a curveball, so you end up struggling to find time with Jesus.
That’s the way life can be, and why I am excited to give you hope this Easter as you look forward to celebrating Resurrection Sunday.
He is risen!!
I live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, where winters can get quite cold. We can get enormous amounts of snow with temperatures dipping below zero. I look forward to spring and Easter!
Easter is a time for flowers, lilies, and new life.
After three months of snow covering the ground, it’s time for spring.
Time to celebrate!
It’s time to get excited about what Jesus has done for us as we praise and worship Him.
Easter Began in a Manger
Easter didn’t begin with pastel baskets and chocolate bunnies.
Easter began over 2,000 years ago in a quiet stable in Bethlehem, when Jesus stepped out of heaven and into our broken world as a tiny baby.
The cradle always pointed to the cross.
We can easily get swept up in the sweetness of spring — baskets lined with bright grass, sugar-filled eggs, family dinners, and photo opportunities. None of those things are wrong. But when they become the focus, they quietly pull our attention away from the events of that first Holy Week.
Easter is not about decorations.
It is about redemption.
Jesus said:
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
— John 11:25–26
That question still echoes today:
Do you believe this?
Jesus did not come merely to inspire us.
He did not come just to teach kindness.
He came to die.
He endured a cruel, humiliating death on the cross — in our place. The sin we committed, the punishment we deserved, the separation from God that should have been ours — He took it all upon Himself.
Without His sacrifice, we would face eternal separation from God. But because of His sacrificial love, because His precious blood was shed for us, we are offered forgiveness and eternal life.
The empty tomb declares that death does not have the final word.
And that changes everything.
What will you do with Jesus this Easter?
What will you do with Jesus this Easter?
Will He simply be part of the tradition, mentioned in passing between family meals and celebrations? Or will He be the very center of your heart and worship?
Scripture tells us:
“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 6:8–11
Easter is not just about remembering that Jesus rose from the dead.
It is about what His resurrection means for us.
If we belong to Him, we have died with Him — and we now live with Him. Death no longer has dominion over Christ, and sin no longer has dominion over us. That is a life-changing truth.
The cross was once for all.
The resurrection is forever.
So what will you do with that truth?
Will you consider yourself dead to sin — turning from the things that pull your heart away from Him?
Will you choose to live fully alive to God — walking in obedience, surrender, and gratitude?
Easter invites us to more than celebration. It invites us to transformation.
Jesus is not still on the cross.
He is not still in the tomb.
He is risen — and He calls us to live like it.
This Easter, let’s not rush past that invitation.
Let’s examine our hearts.
Let’s lay down the sins that entangle us.
Let’s rise in newness of life with Him.
Because He lives, we can live differently.
Because He conquered death, we can walk in freedom.
So again I ask — gently and prayerfully —
