Use Your Gift to Serve Others
Have you hidden your gift and tucked it away where it’s impossible use? God’s given you something unique in order to show love and grace to others.

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. — 1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV)
Have you ever received a beautiful gift—something delicate or meaningful—and tucked it away in a drawer or cupboard? Today, let’s look at how we can use the gift God gave us to serve others.
Your Gift is You!
Do you hesitate to use the gift God gave you? Or maybe, just maybe, you aren’t sure how to use it at all.
We treat the spiritual gifts God has given us the same way.
Do you not feel qualified?
You may wonder if you even have a gift.
Do not believe the quiet lie that what you have to offer isn’t important or worthy. I know those feelings all too well.
For years, I didn’t believe I had a gift. I’d look around and see others shining brightly—serving, teaching, encouraging—and I felt invisible.
It wasn’t until I began to truly grow in Christ and embrace the grace He lavishes on us that I realized those thoughts were never from Him. They were lies designed to hold me back from doing what He had called me to do.
1 Peter 4:10 reminds us that each one—that includes you—has received a gift. It doesn’t say “if” you have a gift. It says, “as each one has received a gift.” That means you already have a gift given to you by the Lord and meant to be used in serving others.

Our Gifts Carry a Sense of Urgency
Even the verses leading up to this one carry a sense of urgency. Peter encourages us to be sober-minded, to pray, to love earnestly, and to show hospitality without grumbling. These are all expressions of grace at work in us and ways our gifts can come alive in service.
That might mean opening your home, even when it’s messy. It might mean texting a friend a Scripture that encouraged you. It might mean mentoring a younger woman who needs to hear your story. Using the gift God gave you doesn’t have to be grand—it just needs to be faithful.
Gifts and Serving Others Matter
- Our gift matters!
- Serving others matters!
- You are part of God’s beautiful plan to pour out His grace!
Don’t hide what He has placed inside you. Use your gift boldly and joyfully. Let His grace flow through you to bless someone else today.
You were created to reflect His glory, right where you are, in the everyday moments of life.
What’s one small way you can begin serving others? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
