Why it is Important to Pray Through Your Fears
It is important to pray through your fears because when you don’t, worry can overtake your thoughts until your body feels the effects of anxiety.
Fear isn’t healthy and it is so intertwined with worry and being anxious.
You might have situations in your life that give you every reason to be anxious and worried sick with fear.
- Rebellious children!
- A marriage that is unraveling!
- The death of a special loved one!
- Financial strain!
Do you anxiously imagine situations in the future?
Are you stressed over little things because the big things are constantly on your mind?
There is a Solution that Can Be Found in Prayer!
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
I want to inspire you to be a woman who fears God! To look fear in the face with prayer instead of worry.
That is what Living Fearlessly is all about.
Fearing God.
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30
Delight in the Lord and Worry Disappears
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
What does picture does the word ‘delight’ bring to your mind?
Delight makes me think of a young girl who just got something pretty that she wanted very much. She jumps up and down, squealing with excitement.
Delight brings . . .
- Happiness!
- Joy!
- Gratification!
- Pleasure!
- Enjoyment
- Rapture
When we are delighted, we are consumed with praise.
And . . .
Praise is the consummation of joy!
Are you so bound up in your fears and worries that you are restrained from delighting in the Lord like the young girl?
Even if it is awkward, start praising God until you are filled with delight.
Don’t Fear Tomorrow’s Troubles
A woman who fears the Lord is not anxious about the future. Isn’t the future what we worry about the most?
Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. Proverbs 31:25
Satan is the one who tries to frighten you about tomorrow’s troubles. Your worries are not from God.
Worry will flee when you look to Jesus.
When your eyes are on Jesus he will give you strength and dignity.
In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge. Proverbs 14:26
When you have the fear of the Lord you will be fearless of man.
It’s not that you are naive. You know you must prepare for the cold winter. You know the reality that sometimes life is tough.
You have granted me LIFE and STEADFAST LOVE,
and your care has preserved my spirit. Job 10:12
