Ditch Your New Year’s Resolutions and Choose ONE WORD

Ditch Your New Year's Resolutions and Choose One Word

Do you make New Year resolutions and never keep them? Ditch the resolutions and choose One Word that will help draw closer to Jesus in 2019.

This year I am choosing One Word to help me draw closer to Jesus.

I ditched making resolutions because year after year I experienced little growth and change in my life.

It was easy to forget what I resolved to do within days.

I have loved choosing One Word that reflects the direction of God in my life.

Something about ending a year and bringing in a new one causes me to reflect on the past and turn my focus on the future.

God placed something inside of us that feels regret for our failures.

There is so much failure wrapped up in being a mother. Some of it is plain old sin and the rest of it is poor judgment or mom-fails.

Are you discouraged about how you did last year as a mother or wife?

Maybe you gained more weight than you would have liked!

There are so many reasons why you want to do better in the coming year.

Ditch Your Resolutions

For the past few years, I ditched my resolutions that I faithfully made each year.

Instead, I have chosen ONE WORD instead of a list of resolutions.

I like choosing One Word better than making resolutions (that I break) or goals (that I never reach).

Choosing One Word makes me stretch higher as I focus on what God has for me in the coming year.

This coming year, I will be choosing one word.

I am going to be praying and thinking about what that will be during the next few days as we enter the new year.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ~Jeremiah 29:11~

Will you do this with me?

How I Choose ONE WORD

I will be seeking the Lord’s face for direction in choosing my new One Word.

  1. Pray!!
  2. Read my Bible right where I have already been reading.
  3. I do NOT search the web and other blogs for trending One Word’s that someone else has chosen.
  4. Listen for ways God is speaking to you.

I choose One Word for the first time in 2012.

That first year, my word did not reflect who I was at the time.!

I chose the word JOY and to tell you the truth, I had no joy at all!! I kept the word ‘joy’ for two years and found joy through my circumstances when my life fell apart.

You would think joy would come on the mountaintop but joy came to me in the valley.

It was the most amazing thing that God did for me.

He wrapped His loving arms around me and gave joy unspeakable!

I hope you ditch your New Year’s resolutions and choose just One Word with me in 2017!!

Are you “IN” with me. I would just love to know!!
