3 Excellent Reasons for Pursuing Holiness

 Excellent Reasons for Pursuing Holiness
Pursuing God and living in holiness doesn’t mean you are perfect. Learn the reasons and how you can live in perfection although you are imperfect!
SO that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:10-11

How To Live Blameless for the Day of Christ

First of all, I’ll calm your worries and say that pursuing blameless living for the day of Christ does not mean that we live perfectly!

Phew!

What it means is that we hate our sin and earnestly seek to be holy as we trust in Christ.

As we have been going deeper with God in Philippians 1:1-11, we are finding GOLD!

Do you see the word ‘SO’ at the beginning of verse 10?
It tells you to look back at the previous verses from this week.
We want our blamelessness to be flowing and imparted from God as the Holy Spirit lives through us.
If you have been trying to ‘be good’ and ‘blameless’ in your own strength, you have probably found that you are failing miserably!

Philippians 1:6 sayswork in you and brought to completion.

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

We are to live in this crooked and perverse generation without grumbling or complaining. Philippians 2:14-15

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Philippians 2:14-15

This doesn’t mean sinlessness or perfection without any sin.

What it means is that for the rest of your life, in front of your husband, children, friends, neighbors, and people you meet, that you will PRESS ON so that Jesus can make you in His likeness. (Philippians 3:12)
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Philippians 3:12
A holy daughter of the King!

What this all means is that when you realize and become aware of sin in your life that you confess it to God.

Pursue holiness!

Seeking to please the Lord in everything perfect but yet imperfect!

3 Excellent Reasons for Pursuing Holiness through Jesus

In summary, I want to leave you with three excellent reasons for pursuing holiness. These capsulate why we would want to live blamelessly before a holy God.

We can’t live perfectly because we are prone to mess up but our whole purpose in life is to do the following three things:

  1. To be filled with the FRUIT of RIGHTEOUSNESS!
  2. To GLORIFY God!
  3. To PRAISE God!

This is my current favorite ESV Journaling Bible!

I want to leave you with this video that I made for you. Watch it to imprint the things I shared today on your heart as you learn the art of pursuing after a wonderful holy God who loves you!
