Romans: Grace that Gives Hope

Grace that gives hope is exactly what you need. You’ll be encouraged with six mini journaling art devotions from the book of Romans.

Whether you simply want to enjoy looking at Bible journaling art or want to create your own, you’ll feel that God gives hope as you read these devotions.

These six examples of Scripture Writing and Journaling Art will show you ways to draw closer to Jesus as they give hope for your struggles.

You’ll also find these devotions in Jesus Journaling on Facebook as I share Monday through Friday each week what God impresses on my heart.

Do Not Waiver. God Gives Hope!

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, Romans 4:20

Did you write Romans 4:3 on Sticky Notes and put them on mirrors in your home?

Have you asked God to grow your faith like Abraham?

Now we are being reminded NOT TO WAIVER in our faith.

God wants to STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH. His whole purpose for growing and strengthening our faith is so that we will give GLORY TO GOD!

How is God working in your life?

Romans 5:1-5

Grace that Gives Hope

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:1-5

How can you:

  • Faith
  • Grace
  • Rejoice
  • Hope
  • Perseverance

Even though your life is filled with tribulations?

How has God shown Himself strong in your life and given you hope?

I NEED THIS SOLUTION!

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

The hope of eternal life, because Jesus died on the cross for me, is the best thing that ever happened to me.

I just watched a movie about Lee Strobel who in 1998 was a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and a graduate of Yale Law School, published “The Case for Christ: A Journalists Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus.” Strobel was formerly an atheist and was compelled by his wife’s conversion to evangelical Christianity to refute the key Christian claims about Jesus.

This movie brought out so many details that it was hard to comprehend all that Christ did for me!

How has Jesus Christ touched your life?

👉 When creative journaling, the ink is not supposed to show through the page but it did. Then I painted the other side with watercolor and it leaked back through the first side and the lettering bled. I am sharing this journaling anyhow because I want you not to be afraid to share YOUR ART! Also, it is a powerful verse that gives us reassurance of eternal life when we deserved death because we sinned.

Romans 6:23

YOU ARE UNDER GRACE that GIVES HOPE

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14

The other day I was cooking for my family. I was tired. It’s been a full week.

I grabbed a box thinking it was cornstarch but when the chicken had a strange taste that no amount of spices or catchup could disguise, it finally dawned on me that the box was BAKING SODA!!

I used a cup of baking soda instead of cornstarch. No wonder it didn’t coat the chicken and fry up beautifully!

Sin is like baking soda.

It seems right at the time but adds a distasteful flavor. It doesn’t even ‘act’ right in the pan with the oil.

It was a huge mistake to add baking soda to the chicken but there is always a lesson in our mishaps.

It’s reassuring to know that we do NOT have to be ruled by sin. Sin does NOT have to have dominion over you!

We are UNDER GRACE!

Romans 6:23

BE AN INSTRUMENT of RIGHTEOUSNESS

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Romans 6:13

You have one life to live. One body, one mind, and one heart to give or not to give to God.

It’s too easy to get on with your day, thinking we can live any way we like.

Let’s live INTENTIONALLY and Be an INSTRUMENT of RIGHTEOUSNESS to God so that He can use of for His glory.

Living for Jesus!!

Romans 8:25

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:25

When you hope in something that you cannot see with your physical eyes it takes FAITH. We are waiting for Jesus’ return to take us to heaven either through our death or His coming again.

If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:3

You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. John 14:28

They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11

Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. Luke 12:36

How You Can Draw Closer to Jesus

There are many ways to draw closer to Jesus and the first one is through consistently spending time with Him.

You might love looking at journaling art but without reading the Bible and talking to Jesus, you might not find what will satisfy your soul.

That is why I often suggest that you use the SOAK method of Bible study using my Journaling Workbooks. They help to guide you through the passage by prompting you in what to do.

You will seek the Lord yourself because I don’t hand you the answers to what each passage is saying to you. It is the Holy Spirit who will speak to your heart and impress on your heart something that will transform your heart.

Why You Are Not Enough

How can I pray for you?
