Do You Really Know How To Magnify the Lord

How much do we really magnify the Lord? I think most of us only understand a tiny bit of what it really means to magnify our Lord and Savior!

Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:3

We were created to praise and glorify the Lord. That is our whole purpose on earth.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1 Peter 2:9

A microscope magnifies things that are too small to be seen by our eye.

A telescope magnifies things that are huge but far away. Like the moon, sun, planets, and stars. They look small to our eye from our vantage place here on earth. We don’t really grasp their magnitude until we see them magnified through a telescope.

That is the way God is to us.

We don’t really grasp how BIG God is.

I think that is why too often we forget to magnify Him as we should.

I know that I don’t really grasp the magnitude of God and that affects my faith and trust in Him to work in the lives of my children, friends, and other circumstances in my life.

Yes, I pray for these things but too often without the faith that God can really change situations in my life and those I am concerned about.

How To Magnify the Lord

My question to you is, do you really know how to magnify the Lord?

My guess is that you have only started to scratch the surface. I know that’s true for me!

Here are some ways to magnify the Lord:

  • Live in a way that will always glorify God! (1 Corinthians 10:31)
  • Wake up and thank Him for 3 things each day! Psalm 63:1-2
  • Praise God when you are happy! (Psalm 34)
  • Praise God when you are sad! That is not as easy, right? (Hebrews 13:15)
  • Thank Jesus for saving you from sin and death! (Ephesians 2:4)
  • Remember the goodness of God! (Psalm 27:13)

Some days it can be harder to see the goodness of God and that makes it more difficult to praise Him.

That is when we need to pray that God will open our eyes and that our understanding would be enlightened so that we KNOW what is the hope of His calling on our life.

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Ephesians 1:18

The whole reason that you exist is to magnify the Lord!

I love illustrating in my Bible about a verse that spoke to my heart. This is just one of my Bible journaling art pictures that I have shared in Jesus Journaling on Facebook which is a ministry through His Unmeasured Grace.

Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:3

Did this encourage your heart? I hope so!
