How To Make the Most of Your Morning

How To Make the Most of Your Mornings

Did you know that the most successful people get a tremendous amount of things done early in the morning? I want to help you make the most of your morning but you might be surprised at how you can do this!

You might be a mom with littles hanging onto your leg or on the other hand, you might be a business-woman looking for ways to maximize your early mornings to set you up for success.

It doesn’t matter which side of the spectrum you fall on, this is for you! What I am going to share with you will transform your day as you get your mornings on track.

The Most Picture Perfect Morning!

The most perfect morning would be one where you intentionally got your day off to a great start.

The most successful people might include these in their routine:

  • Exercise!
  • Listening or reading something motivational!
  • Working on a long-term project unrelated to the rest of the day!
  • Meditation!
  • Adding to your gratitude list!

Although all those are good things, we live in a society which typically engages in bringing on their day with intentionality without including Jesus!

Start Your Day with Jesus!

How To Make the Most of Your Mornings

Everything is put into perspective when you intentionally start your day with Jesus and a cup of coffee. God looks at your day from a different perspective and wants you to put Him before any other priority in your day.

This verse shows the perspective that most honors God and will bring the best results to your day.

Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning. Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. Psalm 5:1-3

Your ‘early morning’ might start later than George Muller who got up to pray at 4am each morning.

Please don’t condemn or be hard on yourself thinking that your morning must look exactly like someone else’s.

Give yourself grace. You are enough!

Whenever your ‘morning’ starts, start your day with Jesus because prime-time for sanctification is soon after we wake up.

The important thing is that you . . .

Fuel up with Jesus!

Early Morning Coffee with Jesus!

Christian men and women used to put God first in their day.

Now, invariably we are more prone to check our social media accounts and push off time with Jesus until later.

Too often (if not all the time) later never comes!

Why?

Because your day takes off before we ever sit down with Jesus!

Get Your Happy ON with Jesus!

If you deal with depression, you might consider getting your ‘happy on’ with Jesus each morning.

George Muller (1805-1898) was a man known for prayer and total reliance on God to supply his needs. He had a huge ministry to orphans and God continually supplied the needs of those children.

George met God in prayer early each morning before most people were awake. He got his happy on before the sun was up. You might not be able to get up that early, I certainly can’t, but there is so much to be learned from this godly man.

The first great and primary business to which I ought to attend every day was to have my soul happy in the Lord. The first thing to be concerned about was . . . how I might get my soul into a happy state, and how my inner man might be nourished. George Muller

If you are like George Muller, the most important part of your early morning is reading your Bible and praying. Even if your ‘early morning’ starts just before noon!

When you spend time reading your Bible and praying, your heart will be:

  • Comforted!
  • Encouraged!
  • Warned!
  • Reproved!
  • Instructed!

Meditating on a Bible verse is food for the soul. You are communing with God as you think deeply and consider and respond to Him in prayer about what you read.

Consider what you read and ponder it. Then apply it to your heart.

When you refresh your soul before the beginning of the day, you are most ready for the trials and temptations as they come your way.

Bible Verses for Your Morning

And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. Mark 1:35

And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. Mark 16:2

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, Matthew 15:3

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench,
until he brings justice to victory; Matthew 12:20

Jesus has grace for you and will help you stretch and grow closer to Him.

If you find it difficult to start most mornings off with Him, he will help you if you ask.

You are enough and there is no condemnation.

There is grace enough for you to change in unexpected ways as you make small strides forward.

Jesus is worth running to for soul-satisfying communion with Him whether you are up before dawn or rolling out of bed by the crack of noon!
