Is your faith small when you can’t see what’s ahead? These 5 verses are faith builders when it’s hard to trust Jesus.
Each morning I come downstairs for my Quiet Time. My laptop is in another room and my phone is often charging where I won’t hear the constant notifications.
I love having tea in my mug but when it’s really cold during the winter, it will often be a steaming hot mocha. Somehow, reading my Bible with a mug in my hand is relaxing as I start my day.
I could easily skip my time with Jesus since my list of things to accomplish each day seems to be neverending.
Thing is, when we skip out on our time with Jesus we will not be prepared to have faith for the unseen.
There are impossible situations in life where we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. The light is unseen and it is easy to think that we will never come out of the dark!
At the end of the day, I want my life to have been lived on purpose and for the glory of God.
I hope that is what you want from your life too!
Living Refreshed in the Holy Spirit
I did a 45-minute workout this morning and then took my supplements. What if I seldom worked-out and never took my supplements?
It wouldn’t take long before my energy and immune system would tank!
That’s the way it would be without spending time with Jesus each day!
My spiritual immunity would weaken and I would have little defense against:
Temptation
Bad attitudes
Problems would pull me down!
From the time you are saved, you have the Holy Spirit living in you. The problem is that we crowd God out of our lives. We don’t fully tap into His indwelling presence!
I need to workout and take my supplements almost every day to feel my best physically.
Similarly, I need to spend time with Jesus each day to feel my best spiritually.
I need the Holy Spirit to refresh me each day. My heart needs to be renewed day by day to keep me whole.
God will never leave me because it says, “He will never leave me or forsake me.“(Hebrews 13:5)
BUT . . . I can suppress the Holy Spirit by allowing the wrong attitudes and actions into my heart and life.
I need Jesus living IN and through me EVERY HOUR!
5 Verses that are Faith Builders for the Unseen
I have never seen a bridge collapse and because I can see the structures suspending it across the river, I have faith it will hold the weight of my car.
When I was 15, I was very close to an airplane that crashed into the harbor surrounding the runway. It reminds me of what happens when we don’t have faith in Jesus.
Too often we falter just like Peter when he walked on the water. He took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink. (Matthew 14:22-33)
That is why these five verses are faith builders for the unseen!
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:8
To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17
As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
These five verses are faith builders when I falter and feel like I’m sinking because I can’t see my way.
These lyrics from the song, Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God, that Kristyn Getty sings is a faith builder when I feel that I need the Holy Spirit to breathe new life into me so that I am alive in Jesus again!
Holy Spirit, living breath of God,
Breathe new life into my willing soul.
Let the presence of the risen Lord,
Come renew my heart and make me whole.
Cause Your Word to come alive in me;
Give me faith for what I cannot see,
Give me passion for Your purity;
Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me.

Judith lives in the beautiful Pocono Mountains with the most amazing husband for the past 45 fleeting years. She has been blessed with seven wonderful children through birth, adoption, and tubal reversal. When her oldest was five, she quit her job on the night shift and homeschooled for over 25 years. God has taken the imperfections of her life and keeps turning them into something that can be used for His glory. She writes in her spare time over at His Unmeasured Grace to inspire and equip women for grace-filled living.
