Jesus Can Give You Grace When You Fail
If I could count the number of times I have failed in my married life it would fill volumes of books!
When you don’t get it right, Jesus can give you grace.
The real problem is that as women, we don’t give ourselves grace. Not at all!
You are probably a perfectionist or maybe you are the type who is afraid to try something. Did you know that is because you might be afraid to fail?
I told you in this post that I used to make homemade birthday cakes for my kids and husband. Invariably they would fail and the icing would be sliding off the top of the cake. If that wasn’t the case I would ‘glue’ the cake together with icing or use toothpicks!
The reason we so desperately need this verse is that we are so totally insufficient.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
The thing that I am meditating on this week is how ‘Jesus loves you infinitely in your insufficiency!’
Have YOU Ever Had a Personal Fail?
I shared about my fails and now it is your turn to share about the time(s) you failed. Tell about it in the comments because you will help someone else know they are not alone.
When I was a young married girl, struggling in my marriage. I thought that I was the only one not able to pull off a blissfully happy marriage. There is comfort in knowing that others have traveled the same road before.
Not so that you are pulled down into the pit of your failure but so you are lifted up, knowing there are solutions and victories ahead.
Jesus Give Grace for Your Fails
When I fail, I am devastated.
Either I have no solution or I am scrambling to fix the mess.
The last thing I usually think about is to ask Jesus to help me out of my mess! That is doing things in my own strength. I am still learning after all these years!
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
What a reassuring verse and yet too often as women we are giving ourselves a hard time because of our fails!
Are you obsessed with perfection and living life trying to get everything right?
Do you not give yourself much grace?
I know that has been my problem!
Jesus will make a way where there is no way.
Jesus puts your fails back together perfectly on the outside and inside. The situation may be the same and there might even be consequences for your actions.
BUT . . .
He works IN the situation and does miraculous things to turn things around. You can’t do this on your own and you will NEED him in order to get it right.
God wants to meet you by providing all your needs in the most remarkable way!
How have your fails impacted your life? How do you see that turning these issues over to Jesus’ control will empower you going forward?

I take “fails” to heart and try to look at them as learning experiences. I pray to God asking him to help me see the lesson, understand it the best I can and accept any consequences. I struggle more when it’s a repetitive behavior. IE: I’ve lost my last 2 jobs with no explanation from my employers. Where I live is an “at will” state so no explanation has to be provided. I wasn’t fired – my contract just wasn’t renewed. I had good reviews from the employers so I was initially devastated. But, after a couple days of shock – I realized God wasn’t part of my coping skills. I finally realized, with Gods help, their was a lesson to learn if I was open to it. I realized my ability to keep up with colleagues (due to age and health) had declined over the years. I was still excellent in my profession but I had placed myself in situations where speed and numbers were more important than giving individual care. Accepting my health and age related issues has now enabled me to be employed where my skills can best be utilized. God is good.
I love what you shared, Karin, and especially when you said, “I realized God wasn’t part of my coping skills.” To allow God to indwell us to that level is key. I’m really sorry that you’ve lost two jobs without an exclamation. That must be so hard but with God, it sure helps to get through devastating life events.
