Do Everything in Love

Doing everything in love isn’t as easy as it was to write that short little phrase. In fact, it is downright hard.

Let all that you do be done with love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

We are born into this world as sinners and we are prone to go with our feelings instead of loving with the purity that Jesus demonstrated.

It is easy to do everything in love when others love us.

It’s almost impossible to feel loving when ‘that someone’ in our life does us wrong continually.

When words and actions go against what we instinctively know to be love, our response is often anything but love in return.

To Love God is Everything!

Our thoughts are captivated by whether someone is loving and kind to us but not how we can love God.

When you were a teenager and in your early twenties, did your thoughts center around whether a certain young man loved you?

How about once you were married, did you often think about how much your man loved you?

Then when you had children, you wanted them to love you, right?

This is a normal human response.

But . . .

We were created to love God.

To love God is to delight in Him and be captivated by His glorious grace!

Putting on Love is Everything!

When we love God with all our hearts, soul, and mind, the outpouring of His love through us helps us to love our husbands and children more perfectly.

“ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.'” Luke 10:27

If you struggle with being impatient with your husband or children (been there) don’t pray for patience, pray for love.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you up to overflowing. When the Holy Spirit is flowing through you, the fruit will be evident in your life.

One of the fruits is love.

Love is patient.

Love is kind.

Put on love which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:14

Love in a Unique Way

How are you unique in God’s eyes?

How can you love others in your life in a unique way this week?

Writing out 1 Corinthians 13 will help to internalize these verses into your heart. I highly recommend you write them out too! These verses are very convicting as the Holy Spirit (if you ask) will point out exactly where you might be failing to show love to your husband, children, and others. Ouch! God loves when your heart is touched by His Word!

Flamingoes are Beautiful Birds 

Did you know these intriguing facts about flamingoes? You are created to love others in unique ways and the flamingo might inspire you to be bold and colorful in your love for others in your life.

Flamingoes can stand up to five feet tall.

A bunch of them are called flamboyance, kind of like a bunch of geese is a gaggle.

God knows that you won’t quite measure up to His standards and wants you to be fully dependent on Him.

He also created you to be unique just like a flamingo.

A flamingo . . .

• Eats with its head upside down!
• Gets its pink color from the brine shrimp it eats!
• Sleep standing on one leg!
