Mary’s Song Magnifies the Lord

Mary’s song magnifies the Lord as she praised God for what he had done by allowing her to become pregnant with Jesus, the promised Messiah.

What a beautiful story of Mary as she came to visit her cousin Elizabeth after she conceived of the Holy Spirit. This story will cause you to praise God for all that He did for Mary so long ago.

Mary's Song Magnifies the Lord

It will give you hope and faith to believe that God can still do miracles!

Elizabeth and Mary, the old and the young. Both are sharing the experiences of their most unusual pregnancies.

Elizabeth is pregnant with John the Baptist after years of being barren. Maybe she was in her 50’s. We don’t know. Not having a child back in those days was a disgrace.

Mary on the other was pregnant as a teenager with the long-awaited Messiah.

Can you imagine a miracle of an angel showing up and standing right in front of you? As you know, that is what happened to Mary and she was terrified!

I would be frozen in fear if an angel suddenly was standing before me!

Things were about to happen that would change the course of history. It would change how the next 30 years of Mary’s life would play out.

Mary quieted her heart and aligned herself to willingly submit to God’s will for her life. That included shame as she would appear not to be a virgin and here she was promised to marry Joseph!

Mary Magnifies the Lord with a Song!

I’d like to suggest that you read the following passage. Just slow down for a moment and SOAK it in. Then share in the comments one thing that Mary’s Song impressed on your heart.
Mary's Song Magnifies the Lord
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and to his seed forever.” Luke 1:46-55
How do you magnify the Lord? Can you write a song from your heart to Jesus?
