Come to Jesus when You’re Struggling with Weariness

If you’re struggling with weariness, you know it can be so difficult to cope!

Are you struggling with weariness from lack of sleep, whiny kids, health issues, or continually doing for those you love, there is hope!

What if there was a way to find rest?

Jesus says . . .

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 28-29

Practical Ways to Cope if You’re Struggling with Weariness

  • Drinking enough water (which is half your body weight in ounces).
  • Get to bed earlier and set your phone alarm to go off at bedtime!
  • If you have littles and an afternoon slump, take a nap when they do! No guilt!
  • Eat less sugar and caffeine! Seriously. Sugar and caffeine will take their toll on your adrenals.

Spiritual Ways to Cope if You’re Struggling with Weariness

When you struggle with weariness (for whatever reason) come to Jesus!

I love opening up to Psalms when I am weary from a hard day.

This Psalm of David is a plea for mercy. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart as you read it.

Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
My soul also is greatly troubled;
But You, O Lord—how long?

Return, O Lord, deliver me!
Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?

I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.  Psalm 6:1-10

I don’t know what you are facing today.

Pray to God for mercy in whatever circumstances you are facing in life. If you’re struggling with weariness, Jesus understands because He also experienced the same things as you.

God loves us when we come to Jesus for the impossible. Your struggle with weariness can be so impossible. I’m sure you know!

He is the God of the impossible!

 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 3:13

“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27
