12 Uplifting Verses to Calm Worry and Anxiety
Do you struggle with worry & anxiety? Find victory by putting on the whole armor of God with these 12 Bible verses.
You might be calm on the outside but do you have anxious thoughts constantly spinning around in your head?
It’s easy to get into the headspace where your thoughts are anxious much of the time.
When I was 15, my gramma was anxious that I would fall out of the upstairs window or porch. I didn’t understand why she worried so much as it seemed that her concerns were unfounded.
However, as I got older and had children of my own, I began to understand her fears. As parents, we always want to protect our children from any harm or danger.
But sometimes, no matter how much we try to control the environment and keep our children and loved ones safe around us, our anxious thoughts grow until they are out of control.

On and on it goes as we fool ourselves into thinking that we don’t worry when in reality we do!
Before we go any further in learning how to calm your worry so it doesn’t turn into anxiety, let’s find out what the difference is between the two. There IS a difference, you know.
The Difference Between Worry & Anxiety
You might be wondering what the difference is between worry & anxiety. You might have thought they were interchangeable and basically the same.
Anxiety is an uneasy feeling of apprehension. That feeling of impending danger, doom, or misfortune.
I can become anxious when I ‘think’ my husband is tailgating. When I express my worries that we’ll have an accident, that is a perceived threat because there’s been no collision.
Anxiety is usually prompted by fear. It is not normal for someone standing by a fence, not to flinch when a bull boldly rushes by. Fear is a warning system that is built into our bodies where it is natural to react to danger. When there is a real danger it’s totally natural to fear.
On the other hand, worry is the thought pattern of anxiety. Thoughts influence your feelings and behavior.
That is why it is so important to get control of your worried thoughts by LETTING GO OF WORRY and allowing God to calm your anxiety.
These Bible verses are a very important aspect of letting go of your worry with the help of the Spirit.
