Unlock the Enemy’s Lies by Renewing Your Mind
Unlock the enemy’s lies which create an intense desire in your heart by renewing your mind. Putting off old habits and putting on the new!
Reading your Bible and praying daily is not the same thing as when you unlock the enemy’s lies by renewing your mind.
Truly walking with Jesus as you start each day isn’t a bing, bang, zoom and you’re done kind of thing!
Maybe you don’t have much free time to spend with Jesus on a daily basis in the first place. You might be thinking, “Judith, you just don’t understand my life!”
I don’t know your life. I get that. I do!
But . . .
I do KNOW that unless we tap into how to Unlock the Enemy’s Lies (see FREE Printable at the bottom), we don’t really GET what walking with Jesus is all about.
I often ask you to join me on my journey and I am asking you that right now. Come along with me as I mull this over in my mind because I want to go deeper with God.
Do you?
I want my journey with Jesus to be an intensive renewing of my mind. I want you to learn how to renew your mind too.
It is Messy to Unlock the Enemy’s Lies!
It is easy to just read what I am sharing and run onto other things in your day. I am making an appeal to you. You are my sister-in-Christ and I want you to have the best ever relationship with Jesus.
I am asking you to search your heart and ask God if there are lies of the enemy that you have believed.
Here are two verses that show that this is biblical. I am mostly paying attention to Romans 12:2 but how can I share verse two without the first verse?!
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
God is a merciful God and it amazes me how much I have been forgiven!
My body is to be presented to God in its entirety, including my mind . . . that thinks the things I think!
Whether I am . . .
- Thinking!
- Talking!
- Walking my dog!
- Washing dishes!
- Doing a Workout!
- Raising my kids!
- Responding to my husband!
- Interacting with women!
You get the picture. In whatever you do IN your body, remember that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are to be a living sacrifice to God in ALL that we do.
I don’t go off as soon as I finish my Quiet Time and do whatever I want!
Reading my Bible and praying is all well and good but I am to take that quiet time with Jesus (and coffee) so that it powers up my whole day.
Asking God to Help Me Unlock Lies
If you think you don’t have lies knocking around in your brain, think again! We need to learn how to unlock the enemy’s lies.
Here is an example.
Weight loss is so much about the lies we believe from the enemy. It is more about our relationship with eating and what’s going around in our minds than about losing those pesky pounds.
When life becomes stressful or even when things are stress-free, I can binge eat a half-bag of milk chocolate chips.
The lies I keep hearing in my head say, “You can eat healthy tomorrow!”
Or . . .
“Just eat this last handful and be done!” and then again, “This REALLY IS the last handful!”
When I am on a healthy kick (which is all the time, right?) I eat ‘nutrition bars’ and rationalize about how they are good for me. The thing is, even though I found ones that have only 130 calories, I can eat almost the whole box.
I hear my head talking to me, “You can have ONE.” and then one just isn’t enough!
“You can have another ONE because you don’t have time to peel an apple!” And then I am going to eat just ONE more!
I am powerless to control the lies that are entering my brain. I have come to realize that it is the enemy of my soul trying to sabotage my effectiveness for the Kingdom.
Seeing these lies for what they are is the first step in the right direction.
Next, I need to arm myself with a Bible verse (or two or three) and ask Jesus to help me fight my battle as a warrior-woman through prayer.
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
I need to tape verses like this on my mirror, on my fridge, on the door, and seriously put on my armor against the enemy that wants to destroy my effectiveness for the Kingdom of God!
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
I need to ask God for help!
Get Beneath the Cross of Jesus!
Talking with God about how you want to renew your mind and unlock the lies that bind your mind, heart and soul is the only way.
Get beneath the cross of Jesus and ask Him to show you what is bound up in your mind that is the old woman that needs to be renewed into the new woman.
