Tutorial on Using a Cross for Bible Journaling
I am going to show you how easy it is to incorporate a cross into Bible journaling. It doesn’t matter whether you are an experienced artist or new at drawing.
You can do this!
I am going to take a sketch pad and I’m going to demonstrate how drawing a cross can be really simple. The picture of the cross below was drawn in a sketch pad and turned into a PRINTABLE.
You can DOWNLOAD it HERE then color it in and write out the verse of your choice or use it for tracing into your sketch pad or Bible.
I will also be sharing some examples so you can get a better idea of how you can include a cross in your next creative journaling time. Feel free to copy any of my ideas because none of these have copyrights!
In the video below, you will see me using a pencil first as I draw a cross. The beauty of drawing with a pencil is that you can erase it if you make a mistake.
In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14
This shows how simple it is to draw a cross. You can even put your paper up to your device’s screen and trace over the sketch of the cross and flowers.
Anytime I do creative journaling art, I choose a Bible verse to illustrate and then include the verse in the picture.
Someday I will leave a legacy for those who come after me. I hope that these pictures will illustrate the redemption from sin that Jesus is offering through His shed blood on the cross.
I used many different elements around the crosses that I’ve drawn but my favorite is to use flowers in my illustrations.
The next thing that I do is go over the pencil with a Micron Pen.
To build your confidence when you are beginning, you might prefer to use an art notebook instead of starting directly in your Bible.
When I show the examples in the video, you’ll see that they are upside down. If you turn your device around, you’ll be able to see my drawings right-side-up. It will be a LOT easier to view!
I’ll figure this out eventually, and meanwhile, thanks for your patience!
