Fervent prayer is something that we rarely see these days and maybe that is why we are losing ground in so many areas. We are living complacent lives and have forgotten that we should be in an all-out war against our enemy.
Our enemy is unseen so we forget he is real.

He is cunning and makes himself out to be fun and interesting so that we don’t draw our battle weapons.
It is high time that prayer became an integral part of our day.
And because of that, I am intentionally going to be taking on this challenge myself. I am asking that you join me as we learn how to really get down on our knees and fervently pray.
When I was a little girl, I remember going into a room where missionaries were gathered for an all-day of prayer. Some of those missionaries were young and others were getting older. The older ones had been missionaries in China before the communist curtain closed the country to the Gospel of Christ. Missionaries had to leave the country to serve the Lord in other places.
But they prayed fervently as their voices tremored with emotion.
It’s been years since I heard anyone praying like that.
I am challenging you (and myself) to pray each day for ten minutes.
Distraction-free!
Without using an app or device.
Without having Facebook open.
Just pray.
To help you, I am giving you 6 Bible verses to remind you of the importance of praying intentionally.
If you are like me, you pray all too often while you are doing something else.
Don’t stop praying while you are folding laundry or driving your car.
We have an enemy to conquer through prayer!
What I am asking is a very hard thing in our hurried lives. We are constantly connected socially through our phone or computer no matter where we are or what we are doing.
I am asking that you disconnect from your devices for 10 minutes and power-in with a solid connection with your Lord and Savior.

Your War Room for Fervent Prayer

You might live in a little house as I lived in when we were first married, or every space is filled with children and people.
You don’t really need to have a ‘special place to pray.
Your spot to pray could be in a favorite chair.
It could be the first thing when you wake up when you are still hiding from your kids under the covers. If you move a muscle they will know you’re awake.
I am challenging you to set aside 10 minutes each day to do nothing other than pray
The earlier in your day the better before you get distracted.
- Take these 6 Bible verses on prayer and print them off twice.
- Put one set around your home to remind you to pray.
- Take the other set with you when you pray (hopefully) uninterrupted for 10 minutes.
- Read them over and meditate on the things that God can do for you through prayer.
- Pray that the things mentioned in the verses will happen for those on your prayer list.
- Make a list of people to pray for.
That’s it!
I am challenging you to enter your personal ‘war room’ and fight God’s way against your defeated evil enemy.
Let’s do this together and go to the next level as we learn how to fervently pray.
